Issue n°0 · The Third Space

In discourse of dissent, it has come to have two interpretations.
That space where the oppressed organise the path to their freedom: the whispering corners of the tavern or the bazaar.
But also the areas where oppressed and oppressor are able to come together, free, even if just for a moment, from oppression itself, embedded in their particularity.

The Third Space Issue

The third space is the borders to inhabit, rather than to escape.

Here is where hybridity takes shape.

Now available in a downloadable pdf previa a small donation to Israa, graphic designer of this n°0 issue now in Gaza risking her life everyday.

About the IFH Journal

The IFH Journal wishes to continue conversations that are unfinished, yet, so urgent. Through unfiltered exchanges — the contributors only know afterwards what the interviews would become — the Journal aims to offer a glimpse of what might emerge from the rhizomatic relationships between fashion, craft and heritage.

The Issue n°0, The Third Space Issue, is the product of extensive research trips conducted in different countries, where we have engaged deeply with local artisans, natural dyers, artists, weavers, and many more actors in the valorisation of indigenous fashion heritage.

Through interviews and collaborative efforts, we aimed to showcase how artisans are creating robust networks, pooling shared resources and knowledge to strengthen their crafts and communities.
Key highlights include inspiring cooperatives like The Anou and ateliers like Haick Concept Souk, whose dedication to resilient fashion practices and cultural craft preservation exemplifies the essence of Incursive Fashion Heritage.

The Third Space Issue is a digital volume, now available (previa subscription).
All profits will be donated to the family of our graphic designer, Israa, based in Gaza.
